We have already made two graphs to visualise “representation” of electorate within the EU member-states. First one was published after the ratification in France and questionable statements by Barrosso and we made the second one after the Bulgarian ratification.
Both times we stated that there are no up-to-date polls which would enable us to evaluate or estimate the size of the democratic gap by which we mean the difference between the political voice of the people/electorate/voters on one side and the elected/professional politicians who should ideally represent/transmit/mirror the interests of the former.
Fortunately Open Europe did make such a poll - one year ago. Actually in these days we should celebrate 1st anniversary of that much-revealing research made public on 23rd of March 2007. Please read the whole .pdf presentation we will only forward two most revealing graphs:
1. Should people have a referendum on the new EU treaty?

2. Would you vote for or against a new EU treaty?

In the absence of any other relevant polls we will start using those figures in our future ratification/representation graphs.
